Dr Joe O'Mahoney
Joe is a lecturer in Organisational Studies at Cardiff University Business School. He previously lectured at Lancaster, Aston and Warwick Business Schools and completed his PhD and MSc at Warwick Business School after finishing his degree in Ancient History at Oxford University. He is a member of the Institute of Directors and the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development.
After his PhD, he worked in the management consulting industry for several years before running a team designing Europe’s largest start-up company ‘Three’. He has also created and directed two start-up companies, successfully gained a patent on a new commercial product and currently provides consultancy advice for entrepreneurs and organisations undertaking organisational change. He has recently appeared on BBC 2’s Dragon’s Den and BBC Radio Wales as an expert on the gambling industry.
Joe’s research in Management Consulting and Change Management has been published in top ranked international journals including the Journal of Management Studies and Work, Employment and Society. He has also contributed chapters to edited books and is currently working on a text on Management Consulting for MBA students. Joe’s teaching focuses on Organisational Change, Management Consulting and Organisational Psychology.
