Opportunities:

The concinnitās Service Science Prize 2009

In order to promote the development of service science and attract student interest, concinnitās has announced a prize of £500 for the best student (undergraduate or postgraduate) report on the application of Services Science. Entry for the competition takes the form of a paper (of not more than 6000 words) in the style of a business report outlining an application of Service Science to any problem of government provision, service industry delivery or service implications for manufacturing. The report should be based upon either a case study being undertaken by the student, or case information from the public domain. The submission will take the form of a business report, but the basis of its content will reflect the scientific nature of the subject.

The prize will be judged by a panel drawn from government, academia and industry, including Michael Lyons (BT Innovate), Allan Mayo (BERR), Andy Neely (AIM Research, Universities of Cranfield and Cambridge), Jim Spohrer (IBM) and Chris Tofts (concinnitās).

Attached is a brief description of the competition.

Entries will only be by electronic submission of a pdf of the report to the address: competition@concinnitas.co.uk by 1st, May 2009.
