Building Capacity for Business Engagement with Impact - Workshop for established academic researchers with AIM VIF Andrew Van de Ven

Workshop 2: Designing Large-Scale Engaged Business Research

27 May 2011
Details:

10.00 – 16.00, Liberty Building, University of Leeds, Leeds

The challenge for experienced researchers represented by the” dual hurdles” of rigour and relevance in management research has recently received an added impetus in the shape of Hefce’s Research Excellence Framework (REF2014). Starting from an existing foundation in performing high quality research, how might academics make better use of their research knowledge?

This was the second in a series of three workshops for established researchers (more than 4 years post PhD research experience), led by AIM Visiting International Fellow Professor Andrew Van de Ven. Having established networks, participants at this workshop will be seeking to develop links with stakeholders into more complex projects, including those involving the co-ordination of multiple researchers.

Outline Conference Programme

Sessions 1 to 3 – Professor Andrew Van de Ven, ‘Engaged Scholarship’

Session 4 – Professor Richard Thorpe, ‘Knowledge Translation Value Chain’
