Development and Adaptation of Promising Practices

Project Description

The broad set of research questions developed in collaboration with the AIM team are: What is a promising practice? How do practices emerge? What are practices adopted? What is success? What practices can/should lead to success? What is transferable? How can transferable practices be captured? By what means are practices transferred and how do managers receive them? How do managers adapt them? How do managers implement them?

These questions can be viewed in two contexts - emergent practices and established practices.

There are two phases of this project:

(1)   Developing a broad theoretical empirical and practical framework for the development, adaptation and impact of promising practices in both service and manufacturing.

(2)   Conducting field and historical research into the development, adoption and adaptation of practices in the area of Lean Production and Experience economy

Mode of Engagement

Various methodologies are used. The prime method has been large scale survey research and field case research.
