Learning and Collaboration

Project Description

Learning is a focal issue in many inter-organizational collaborations in both public and private sector settings. It is also central to practice adoption and innovation through alliances and networks. This project is concerned with developing an understanding of approaches to learning in such contexts, with particular reference to the planned or emergent possibilities for collaborative advantage which might thereby result. The project is concerned with both substantive learning between partners and process learning about how to collaborate with each other.

Modes of Engagement

This project is based on action research relating to intervention work with managers and other practitioners. We have been involved with them in collaboration-related advisory, steering group, training and facilitating roles. This work with managers is central both to data collection and use of the research to support practice.
