George S. Yip (a dual American and British citizen) is an expert in global strategy. Since January 2008, he has been Dean of the Rotterdam School of Management, Erasmus University, in The Netherlands. For two years before that role, he was Vice President and Director of Research & Innovation at Capgemini Consulting, on leave of absence from London Business School, where he was Professor of Strategic and International Management since 2001. Between 2003 and 2006, he was also the Lead Senior Fellow of the Advanced Institute of Management Research. Between 2001 and 2003, he also served as Associate Dean of London Business School and as Chair of its MBA programme. Earlier, he had worked as a professor at Cambridge University, UCLA, and Harvard Business School. His other business experience includes management with Unilever and Price Waterhouse. Finally, George Yip is a Fellow of the Academy of International Business and of the International Academy of Management. He studied economics and law at Cambridge University (BA and MA). He earned his MBA at Cranfield School of Management and Harvard Business School and also received a DBA (business policy) from Harvard Business School.

He is one of the world's leading authorities on global strategy and marketing managing global customers, internationalization, and multinational strategies for the Asia-Pacific region. His current research concerns strategic transformation and managing global customers.

His book, Total Global Strategy (Prentice Hall, 1992), was selected as one of the best business books published in the US in 1992; has been published in ten languages, and updated as Total Global Strategy II (2003). His most recent book is Managing Global Customers (Oxford University Press, 2007)
