Dr Adegoke Oke
Dr Adegoke Oke is an Assistant Professor and the Associate Director of the Center for Productivity, Innovation and Quality (CPIQ) at the Arizona State University, USA. He graduated from Ahmadu Bello University, Nigeria with a degree in Civil Engineering in 1986. He obtained an MBA (with Distinction) at the Cardiff Business School, University of Wales and a PhD from the Cranfield School of Management, UK winning the Directors prize for the best PhD thesis.
Goke worked as a Project Engineer and Manager for Shell Exploration Company for over 8 years where he managed successfully several Oil and Gas projects worth on average about $30 million each. He worked as an Operations Analyst for Allied Steel and Wire Company based in Cardiff and later became a Chartered Engineer in 1993. Dr Oke has published several articles in top ranked journals including the Journal of Operations Management, International Journal of Operations and Production Management and International Journal of Production Economics. Goke has acted as a consultant to a number of organizations on Innovation Management, Flexibility and Supply Chain Management.
Prior to joining the faculty at Arizona State University, Goke lectured on Operations and Innovation Management at Cranfield School of Management where he also directed several executive development programmes on Innovation Management. He also worked as a visiting lecturer at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels at the University of Greenwich, UK; Nene University, UK; De-Montfort University and Universiti Teknology, Malaysia. In August 2008 at the Academy of management Conference in Anaihem, California, He was presented with the Journal of Operations Management 2007 best reviewer award. He was appointed an AIM Scholar in 2004 and a Frank Batten Scholar of the College of William and Mary in 2002. He is a member of the Production and Operations Management Society, Decision Sciences Institute, European Operations Management Association (EurOMA), International Society of Inventories Research and Nigerian Society of Enginners. Goke's current research interests include the management of innovation in service and manufacturing sectors, the implementation and measurement of flexibility in manufacturing and service sectors and supply chain risk management.
