Dr Giuliana Battisti
Giuliana Battisti is a Reader in the Industrial Economics division at Nottingham University Business School and an ESRC-EPSRC sponsored AIM fellow in Services (October 2008-Sept 2010).
Her research interests include industrial organisation, the diffusion of innovations and their causal patterns; multivariate statistical analysis and time series econometrics.
She first joined AIM in 2003 as an ESRC-AIM Advisory Scholar to the Department of Trade and Industry -now BERR- on the Innovation Review. She was subsequently PI on a EPSRC-AIM project titled: 'The role of management practices in closing the productivity gap' (2006-2008) and a co-investigator on the Ideas factory EPSRC-AIM project 'Closing the Gap, Moving to the Next Level (2005-6).
Giuliana is a committee member of the Business and Industrial Section of the Royal Statistical Society. She has been doing consultancy and research for a number of governmental and private organisations such as: Business Innovation and Skills department (ex DTI), the Department of further Education and Skills (DFES), the the JRC of the European Commission IPTS- TSD Unit; the Research Institute on Financial Structures and Economic Development (ISFSE), etc.
The results of her research have been published in a number of journals such as Research Policy, Oxford Economic Papers, British Journal of Management, International Journal of Industrial Organisation, International Journal of Management Reviews.
