AIM Fellows on Productivity
At the heart of AIM's inception was the 'productivity gap' - quite literally the gap in productivity between the UK and other developed nations such as America and Germany. It is an issue that has perplexed many academics and businessmen over the years and one that successive British governments have been keen to address. But productivity is not just a question of competing economies – it is an essential key to sustained success for any company. British companies could be forgiven for looking at firms in emerging economies and wondering how they can compete with plentiful and cheap workforces.
Outlined in this video and explored in greater detail on the AIM website, AIM's research explores how firms can navigate the challenges brought by globalisation, to maximise their productivity and increase the value of their products, services and collaborations.
'AIM Fellows on Productivity' features: AIM Director Professor Robin Wensley, AIM Deputy Director Professor Andy Neely, AIM Ghoshal Fellows Professor Simon Collinson (Lead), Dr Nick Bloom and Dr Michael Jacobides and AIM Services Fellow Dr Irene Ng.
